Project Community Connect (ending homelessness—helping neighbors in need) is looking for volunteers to work on November 19 9am – 4:30pm at Canterbury Park Expo Center. PRIORITY FOOD DONATIONS—
Hearty soups that can be added to rice or noodles to make a meal are needed. Assorted salad dressings and boxed potatoes are also needed. We are short on spaghetti noodles! We need commercially wrapped/dated and frozen meats. Wild game accepted. We also need hot cereals such as oatmeal, Malt-O-Meal, Cream of Wheat, and grits.
HOLIDAY FOOD DONATIONS—
We will be assembling bags of traditional Thanksgiving dinner food. We will need; corn, green beans, dried stuffings, cans of pumpkin, evaporated milk, pie crust, jello, Cream of Mushroom soup, potatoes and dried potatoes, sweet potatoes, packets or jars of gravy , cranberries and canned cranberries.
BIRTHDAY BAG DONATIONS—
The Food Shelf distributes birthday bags for our young clients. If your organization would like to sponsor and create/donate birthday bag ingredients including a cake pan, cake mix, frosting, candles, gender/age specific—small paper plates and napkins, This is a great project for schools, scouts, churches and 4H groups.
Personal care items such as toothbrushes (single pack, please, we cannot break a multiple pack apart), toothpaste, deodorant (men’s and woman’s), bar soap, shampoo, and women’s personal items such as tampons. Many of our clients are pursuing finding work and personal hygiene care is critical. Items for infant care: wipes, cans of formula, baby food of any kind including cereal.
